Member of Parliament for Lambussie constituency in the Upper West region, Hon Bright Yelviel Baligi has indicated that, after the former minister of trade and industry, who is now contesting in the upcoming presidential primaries of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng popularly known as Alan cash met with the majority caucus, things have changed.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Onokwafo Yaw Asiedu of Ahotor FM, he said MPs supporting the vice president were convinced that, Alan is the right man to lead the party into the 2024 general elections.
According to him, if anyone that listens to Alan at that meeting is not convinced, then he does not know how that person wants to be seen in good leadership.
The MP said the 2024 general elections are not an ordinary one and therefore, the governing party needs someone who has all the qualities to compete with the opposition.
The party in a statement issued yesterday and signed by its General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, said the decision to revise the timelines was taken at its emergency Steering Committee meeting held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
The statement explained that the decision followed the Electoral Commission’s press release issued on May 31, 2023, to announce the date of June 27, 2023, for the Assin North Constituency by-election and the party’s preparation for that poll.
