Member of Parliament for the Wa West Constituency Peter Lanchene Toobu has urged Ghanaians to go down on their knees and pray to God not to have a President Nana Akufo-Addo again because of how bad he has managed the country.
Reacting to the appointment of some 3 new EC Board members by President Akufo-Addo on Ahotor 92.3 Fm’s morning show ‘Ade Kyi Mu Nsem‘, Hon. Toobu said Nana Akufo-Addo is not allowing the Electoral Commission to work independently as how the constitution says by appointing party members to the commission.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday swore in three new members of the Electoral Commission (EC) governing board.
They included Rev. Akua Ofori Boateng Salima, Ahmed Tijani, and Dr. Peter Appiahene.
Their appointment is in line with Article 43 (1 and 2) of the 1992 constitution which states that, “there shall be an Electoral Commission which shall consist of a Chairman, two Deputy Chairmen, and four other members.
The members of the Commission shall be appointed by President under article 70 of this Constitution.
The Wa West legislator believes no matter what the NPP will do, they will lose the 2024 elections and no rigging can stop that.
