The National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ayawaso Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region Abdul-Razak Yakubu is confident the NDC will win the Ayawaso Central constituency seat for the first time in 28 years with him leading as the Parliamentary Candidate because he has the qualities, skills and the right support to help him achieve that.
Speaking with Emmanuel Romeo Tetteh from Ahotor Newsroom, Abdul-Razak expressed worries over why should his constituents be voting for the NPP in every elections for the past 28 years, yet there has been no major development in the area.
He believes is because the people who are being voted for to lead as MPs are not from the constituency so they don’t understand the real plight of the people.
“It is about time we vote for someone who is from Ayawaso Central, who stays in Ayawaso Central who understands the people to solve their basic challenges”
“Our roads are not good and sanitation is also a problem in this area, flooding is killing people, when it rains houses are filled with water, people can’t sleep when it rains, it is very very sad, go to Alajo and the Panama area, people are really suffering but we have been voting for the NPP for the past 28 years, what are they really doing to help the constituency?”.
Abdul-Razak believes he is the right person to bring development to the constituency if elected as the member of Parliament because he has the qualities and despite his youthfulness, he has the experience to develop the Ayawaso Central constituency.
” I Abdul-Razak Yakubu understand the people of the constituency because I am one of them, I am an Ayawaso Central grassroot in and out so I know what the people needs and their challenges I will solve them because I have the links to make that happen”.
“Some people say I am young so I can’t lead my constituency, how old was Prophet Mohammed when he started preaching, how old was Jesus Christ when he started preaching, yes I know I’m young but this is the time for the youth and we are going to change the country with people like me Abdul-Razak Yakubu in Parliament”.
“I am going to empower the women and the youth with my numerous plans which will help the constituency develop in terms of physical development and wellbeing development “.
He pleaded with his party delegates to desist from money politics as anyone who will pay them money to vote for him or her don’t have their best interest at heart.
“To my party delegates I’m begging you don’t vote for someone who will pay you to vote for him or her, such person won’t care about you when he or she wins because you’ve already sold your wellbeing to such person”.
“Let’s vote for people who can bring change to their various constituencies like me Abdul-Razak Yakubu and together we will help develop the country, let’s not vote for people who will be just giving us money that is not the NDC I know from my infancy”.
He promised with delegates giving him the support by electing him as the Parliamentary candidate on the May 13th, 2023, he will bring victory to the party in the Ayawaso Central constituency for the first time in 28 years because he has what it takes to make that a reality.
