Since the beginning of this year, we have heard of two (2) cabinet ministers of the failed Akuffo Addo government tendering their resignation letters to the president to contest the flag bearer position of the New Patriotic Party.
First to resign was Mr. Alan Kyerematen who happened to be the Minister for Trade and Industry.
Many would have thought that Mr. Alan Kyerematen should have left the political scene after his abysmal performance as Trade Minister over the years.
He (Alan Kyerematen) as a cabinet minister can’t absolve himself from the current economic quagmire his government has subjected Ghanaians to which landed us at IMF.
The Akuffo Addo government has presented a golden opportunity to Mr. Alan Kyerematen to prove his long-held ambition of becoming president of the Republic through his appointment for two consecutive times as Minister for Trade and Industry.
His inclusion in this government since 2017 can’t be underestimated and hopes were high among many Ghanaians since Alan Kyerematen on so many occasions has paraded himself as one of “the men” to turn around the fortunes of this Country but his output in government has proven otherwise!
Again, the second element of this government that resigned yesterday was no other person than an internationally recognized “liar” in the person of Mr. Afriyie Akoto; the former Minister of Agric. This man once told us that a bunch of plantains was costing as low as Ghc4.00 in Accra while in fact, one can pay more than Ghc30.00 to get a bunch of plantain at the time.
This is someone that can best be described as losing touch with reality following facts checked at the various market including the very market he claimed he bought his plantain from.
Ghanaians are not so ignorant to hand over this country to people like Mr. Afriyie Akoto should the unfortunate happen.
Not long ago, the same man (Mr. Afriyie Akoto) turned the frontage of his office (the Ministry of Agric) into an unripe Plantain market for Ghanaians to patronize as against the usual business at the Agbogbloshie market.
This was an initiative he believed in his right senses to curtail the skyrocketing food prices after trumpeting the so-called slogan “planting for food and job” to make Ghanaians believe that, his government and the Ministry are on top of Agriculture issues.
This small market at his office couldn’t stand the test of time before it vanished into the thin air.
Also, this is a man who couldn’t manage a single Ministry with an overloaded three (3) deputies and is expecting Ghanaians to vote for him in the 2024 general elections as president.
The gods might be “mad” to cause Ghanaians to vote for such personalities in 2024.
Many would have thought that the theorist Bawumia we know in opposition can run for the presidency but reality dawned on him the very day he abandoned his office as Vice President in disguise to become a poster boy.
Dr. Bawumia is the worst-ever Head of the Economic Management Team since the inception of the 4th Republic.
Never in our history has the cedi depreciated so much within the twinkling of an eye coupled with high fuel price hikes and food prices.
The NPP from history never had the “men” we are made to believe over the years. It is under their regime of well-carved-out campaign message and slogan of “positive change” as preached by Mr. Kuffour that we were declared HIPC.
The NDC remains a better and solid option for Ghanaians in 2024 and not even satan would change this fact!
