Ayawaso bye-election withdrawal: Who in NDC has expertise in security than Totobi Kwaakye – Evans Tamatey ask Asiedu Nketiah

The NDC Constituency Vice Chairman for Lower Manya Krobo constituency, Evans Tetteh Tamatey has questioned the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah on why he is accusing the incumbent Chairman, Dr Ofosu Ampofo wrongfully on his decision for the party to withdraw from the Ayawaso bye-election.

According to him, Asiedu Nketiah had prior knowledge about the date of the bye-election but decided to travel out of the country to pursue his personal interest while he could have delegated any of his deputies to go in his stead.

“….you decided to prioritize your personal interest over the bye-election. Those here knew the situation and took a decision to withdraw from the bye-election then you come back now that you seeking for chairmanship position to blame the Chairman that he took a wrong decision”.

Speaking on ‘Asem Yi Di , a political talk show hosted by Osei Akoto popularly known as Teacher Kojo, he indicated that, there are well known security experts in the NDC who informed the decision declared by the Chairman on their withdrawal from the Ayawaso bye-election.

“who in NDC as we speak is on top of security issues more than Totobi Kwaakye, Asaase Gyimah, Nunoo Mensah? When these people talk about security, where do you stand? All these people stood by chairman Ampofo and said NDC should withdraw from the election and what are you telling us now?”.

The Ayawaso bye-election withdrawal decision is being used by the general secretary, Asiedu Nketiah against the chairman, Dr Ofosu Ampofo.

Meanwhile, Asiedu Nketiah is contending with Ofosu Ampofo for the Chairmanship position in the upcoming National Delegates Congress which will take place on Saturday, December’s 17, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
