The Member of Parliament for Wassa East and former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon Isaac Adjei Mensah says it can’t be true that President Akuffo-Addo has constructed roads than any government since independence
According to him, this claim is factually misleading and believes it is a deliberate orchestration and fabrication to distort facts intended to achieve an undeserved prominence
He stated, “Even in Nana Addo’s fifth year, his performance has been very poor compared to other regime since independence”
“Its factual, though some road works have been done in his first and second terms but available records and evidence don’t support the claim of his road sector performance especially when compared with President Mahama’s outstanding performance in the sector” he said
His comments came following claims made by the president during his delivery of the State of the Nations Address yesterday, Wednesday, March 30, 2022 that, his government has been the most successful of all in the history of Ghana in building infrastructure, and that it has built more roads than any other government
The president said, over the past five years under his watch, Ghana has benefitted from the construction of roughly 10,875 kilometers of new road
