Find Out Why Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC Skipper Godwin Ablordey Was Kicked Out Of The Club

Life as it is remains a mystery — difficult to grab how it operates- the unfairness aspect always halts the progress of humanity. Former Skipper of Asante Kotoko, Godwin Ablordey has had his share of how well life can be after putting up your best for an organization. Early to 2000s, Godwin Ablordey carved a niche with the quarters of Asante Kotoko and became a common name following his unique way of taking penalties.

Ablordey during his prime received an expansive plaudit from the rank and file of Asante Kotoko which earned him the name ‘Champion’. His mobility in midfield, accuracy in passing, ability to switch play to coerce his team to initiate attack, work rate, and other qualities were mind-blowing. After retirement from football, he was called to serve Kotoko again under the watch of Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong as Team Manager.

He put up his best and distinguished himself in devotion, discipline and humility. After a successful spell under two administrations (Dr. KK Sarpong and Opoku Nti), life rested on his unfair deal during Dr. Kwame Kyei’s first three years of administration.  The player who served the club diligently and fashioned out spectacularly in discharging his duties was unfortunately sacked because he failed to sign an outrageous hotel bill from Dr. Kwame Kyei.

In an exclusive interview with Kickgh.com, the peeved former team manager of the Ghanaian giants disclosed that he is currently home because he resolved to protect the purse of Asante Kotoko SC.

“It is unfortunate how some people put themselves out for the supporters to know that they love the club but in actual sense, they are the ones milking the club.”

“I was maliciously relieved of the Team Manager’s position because I failed to sign an outrageous hotel bill receipt from Sports Hotel which was directed by Dr. Kyei. I didn’t sign because the price was huge, and we never negotiated the price,” he revealed.

“After I decided not to append my signature for them to collect the money, Dr. Kyei and his cohorts decided to mistreat me because he saw me as a person blocking him from milking from the club.”

“They started saying I am sabotaging people within the technical team just to axe me from the team. I was made the technical director of the inactive Youth team but later they told me that they want to dissolve it to reorganize it again and that saw me outside the club.”

“It is painful sometimes how some of these people behave outside, but in their closets the scheme is bad for people,” he concluded.
