A running Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress for Tema West Constituency, Lawyer James Enu has revealed he will invest heavily in infrastructure in his electoral area when voted into power.
He said this in a radio interview on Ahotor FM’s late-night Sports Show on Thursday with Mustapha Hadji Dean as part of his radio campaign tour.
The learned lawyer said football is a big business that requires prudent investment as it happens in players’ sales and the construction of stadiums among others.
“As a country, we must have a government that’s willing to invest in football and I think that’s one of the areas this government [NPP] has failed”,-Lawyer James Enu
“The NDC when we come, we are going to invest heavily into Sports Infrastructure, we will improve all the stadiums across the country to acceptable standards”, he said.
Lawyer James Enu believes Tema being the industrial hub for the country with a lot of companies can be lured into supporting sports in Tema West.
“For Tema West Constituency, Tema is an industrial city and we need to get the corporate world involved in sporting activities in Tema through corporate social responsibilities”, he added.
“If we have a good concept in Tema, sell it to the companies they will invest money into it”, he said.
“Some of these companies can take up the pitches, build and maintain it as part of corporate social responsibility”, he emphasized.
He cited the Basketball Court in Tema Community 3 built by MPS and pledges to do more when his party gets the mandate to govern the country on December 7, 2024.
This forms part of his comprehensive campaign messages and policies, aligning with the vision of HE John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
