TEMA, Ghana, 24th September: The Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has called on the security agencies to invite New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, to assist investigations into his claims about alleged clandestine drug-processing laboratories and a hidden cocaine warehouse in Ghana.
Mr Koomson said Nana B should provide the security agencies with the intelligence and information he claims to possess so investigators can establish the veracity of the allegations and, where necessary, take appropriate action.
Nana B made the allegations at an NPP press conference on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, claiming that drug traffickers had established clandestine laboratories in Ghana to process illicit drugs and narcotics for export.
He also alleged that some officials were facilitating the movement of narcotics out of the country.
The NPP National Organiser has linked the alleged operations to a series of recent drug seizures involving consignments reportedly traced to Ghana, including the seizure of nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine in France.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s Adekyee Mu Nsem on Thursday, September 24, Abraham Koomson said the appropriate response to Nana B’s claims is for the security agencies to formally invite him to provide the information behind his allegations.
According to him, if Nana B knows the location of the alleged warehouse and laboratories, he should lead investigators to those locations to facilitate further investigations.
“National Security and the Ghana Police Service should invite Nana B. If he says there is a warehouse and laboratories, he should lead them to the place,” Mr Koomson said.
He argued that allegations involving alleged narcotics operations are too serious to remain at the level of political accusations and should instead be subjected to proper investigation by the relevant security agencies.
Nana B’s claims have already triggered calls for the NPP to share its alleged intelligence with the security agencies. The NDC’s Deputy Director of Elections and IT, Rashid Tanko-Computer, similarly urged the party to provide any information it has to investigators so the allegations can be assessed and, where appropriate, acted upon.
The allegations come amid heightened concern over recent cocaine seizures in Ghana and abroad, including the subsequent seizure of nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine in France from a container reportedly exported from Ghana.
Mr Koomson’s call therefore puts the focus on whether the NPP will provide the security agencies with the specific intelligence it says informed its claims about alleged drug-processing facilities operating in Ghana.
