A vote for Dr. Bawumia as president is a vote of dishonesty and lack of credibility – Mustapha Gbande

Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has vehemently criticized the idea of voting for Dr. Bawumia as president, labeling it as a choice marked by dishonesty and a lack of credibility. Gbande expressed his views during an interview on Accra-based Ahotor 92.3 FM, where he didn’t mince words in his assessment of the Vice President’s tenure.

In Gbande’s eyes, Dr. Bawumia has tarnished the reputation of the Vice President’s office, branding him as a public liar. He lamented the decline in the prestige of the vice presidency, citing how, during his upbringing and schooling, the vice president was held in high esteem, but now, according to him, it has been reduced to a mere platform for spreading falsehoods.

A vote for Bawumia is a vote for dishonesty and a lack of credibility. He has brought disgrace upon the esteemed office of the vice president,” Gbande asserted in his interview with Citizen Kofi Owusu.

Gbande issued a stern warning, asserting that the NDC would not tolerate any attempts to manipulate the 2024 general elections, similar to what they claim occurred in 2020. He emphasized that if any such attempts were made, the NDC would not hesitate to take action. Gbande emphasized that the party had been perceived as a voice for peace, but they would not necessarily adhere to such a role in the upcoming elections if they felt that cheating was occurring.
