The National Democratic Congress (NDC) criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the recently introduced Performance Tracker.
This Performance Tracker aims to ensure transparency and accountability in infrastructure projects across the country. Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, explained that it addresses concerns about project accuracy, particularly the use of artists’ impressions.
At the official launch at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Oppong Nkrumah stated that the tracker currently covers over 13,000 projects nationwide. He emphasized its upgrade from the Delivery Tracker introduced by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in 2020.
However, Deputy Director of Elections for the NDC, Mahdi Jibril speaking on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s morning show criticized the government’s focus on the performance tracker. He argued that citizens need more than just a tracker.
