Angry chiefs from twelve communities in Twifo Atti-morkwa district, Central Region, are outraged by rampant illegal mining.
They’ve invoked spiritual punishment against NDC chairman Swanzy Arhin and officials involved. Arhin, with BENVICO Ltd., misled communities with a prospecting license, destroying 50 acres of farmland and the Bunu River.
Livelihoods of 500 farmers and 20,000 residents in Twifo Mintaso, Kotokye, Ayaase, Bimponagya, Mampong, and Mokwaa are at stake due to lack of water and loss of farms.
