Rastafari Council Ghana Holds 9th National Conference for Development

The Rastafari Council Ghana had its 9th National Conference today, March 2nd, 2024, at the Art Centre Auditorium in Accra.

The conference had the theme “Political Consciousness, A Key Requirement for National Development” and saw the attendance of many top dignitaries.

Ahuma Ocansey Bosco, President of the Rastafari Council Ghana, encouraged Rastafarians to contribute to the country’s development.

“This year, 2024, is crucial for us, and we couldn’t have chosen a better theme. I urge my fellow Rastafarians to contribute positively to our country’s development,” he said in his opening remarks.

The Special Guest of Honour, the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, praised the Rastafari Council for its conscious effort in national development.

“I am always pleased to be among Rastafarians like today. I want to acknowledge the Rastafari Council Ghana for their conscious effort in helping our country develop,” Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng said.

He also made a cash donation to the Council.

Empress Mawuena Saafy Najeh used the opportunity to seek support for the council’s philanthropic projects in Somanya, a town in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

“We have a lot of work to do to improve people’s lives. Currently, we are working in Somanya and need support from the public. Donations can be made through this number,” she said.

Nana Otuo Owoahene Acheampong, Chairman of the National Commission on Culture, urged everyone to embrace the conference theme for a prosperous nation for future generations.

The Guest Speaker, Rt. Honourable Prince K. Kailash, a Priest of the EABIC Boboshanti Order and a Herbal Physician called on governments and health authorities in African countries to invest in research into herbal medicine.

Prince Kailash stated that many medicines from outside Africa do not effectively work on Africans because they were not meant for us. He advocated for the use of local medicines to treat Africans instead of imported ones.

The Keynote Speaker of the conference, Ras Dr. Wayne Rose, a Co-Founder of the School of Sacraments, Rastafari University, and a Lecturer, urged Rastafarians to be conscious of their time.
