Emmanuel Wilson, Chief Crusader of the Anti-Crusader Against Corruption, has come to the defense of clergy, chiefs, and other stakeholders regarding their apparent failure to combat galamsey (illegal mining) and corruption. Wilson asserts that while these groups may voice their concerns, it ultimately falls upon politicians to enact and enforce laws.
In an interview with Ahotor FM, Wilson pointed out that entities like his corruption agency, IMANI Africa, and other anti-corruption organizations have been vocal about certain issues in the country but lack the authority to enforce change. He emphasizes the importance of parliamentary commitment to passing effective laws, stating that without such commitment, efforts to address these issues will be futile.
Regarding the recent passage of the LGBTQ+ bill into law by parliament, Wilson calls for a redirection of energy and enthusiasm towards combating galamsey and corruption, which he perceives as more pressing issues threatening the country’s well-being. He urges parliament to prioritize the enactment of laws aimed at tackling these challenges for the betterment of Ghana.
