Botched Agyapa deal: Monies must be retrieved, and perpetrators must not go free – Sammy Gyamfi.

It appears that Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is emphasizing the need for accountability regarding the Agyapa Royalties Deal. He asserts that individuals involved in the deal should face legal consequences if any illegal activities are found, and any unlawfully obtained funds should be recovered.

Gyamfi highlights the findings of a corruption risk assessment report from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), indicating that the processes leading to the agreement and the agreement itself were deemed unlawful. He expresses concern over the $12 million already spent on the deal, suggesting that this expenditure is unacceptable, particularly during difficult times for the country.

According to Gyamfi, the current administration is accused of accumulating wealth for themselves without considering the country’s future or benefiting the state. He urges Ghanaians to support the NDC in the upcoming elections on December 7, presenting the party as a better alternative for governance.

This statement underscores the NDC’s stance on issues of corruption and accountability within the government, positioning themselves as advocates for transparency and responsible management of public resources.
