Fighting against corruption; We are not surprised of the feedback from politicians – GII on corruption index.

Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) have indicated that, they’re not surprised by the feedback from politicians regarding the current Corruption Perception Index (CPI) of the country.

According to GII, anytime it happens like this, the opposition will pick it up and interns to acknowledge the issues and accept them whiles the party in power will decide that it’s a perception and not reality.

Speaking on the fight against corruption, the Executive Director of Ghana Integrity Initiative, Madam Mary Adah said they have had to contemns with this for over time and she believes its one of the key things that has affected the fight against corruption.

She indicated that, there has not been enough interest in interrogating to ensure that the government then identifies some of the low hanging fruits that we cannot work with as a country.

Madam Adah said one thing she want Ghanaians to understand is that the CPI is an aggregate of different sources of information and these information’s are compiled from the point of view that the relate to the subject of governance and anti-corruption.
