The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned its members especially the party delegates ahead of the upcoming parliament primaries not to display their vote in public after voting.
According to the party, any vote that will be displayed to the public while the voting is in progress will be deemed invalid.
Speaking at a press conference in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi ahead of the January 27 parliamentary primaries, the General Secretary of the party, Justin Frimpong Koduah indicated that, the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Ghana Police Service (GPS) shall enforce to restrict delegates of taking their phones and other gargets to the voting center.
He indicated that, the EC and the GPS shall deny influencers or macho men and undesignated persons access to the voting center.
Again, he said all such persons shall be arrested and prosecuted by the Ghana Police.
Mr Koduah emphasized that, all delegates shall go to the various centers peacefully and vote for the choice of candidate without any interruption.
NPP goes to the polls to elect parliamentary candidates on January 27 to battle come December 7 2024.
