Residents in parts of Accra, including Nyaniba Estate in Osu and Apaapa in La, are expressing concerns about the inconsistent water supply affecting their communities. According to them, the situation has taken a toll on their livelihoods, as they are forced to buy water from tankers at high prices.
Some of the residents say the Ghana Water Company Limited failed to inform them of plans to cut the water supply for some time in certain communities.
Meanwhile, Assembly Member for Labone Electoral Area, Aaron Akrong, wants the Ghana Water Company Limited to immediately fix the problem.
BELOW IS THE VOICE OF SOME AFFECTED RESIDENTS:
The Ghana Water Company Limited GWCL on its part is urging its consumers to settle their bills promptly to assist the company in enhancing water supply.
This appeal comes in response to complaints from GWCL customers in specific areas in Accra regarding the inconsistence water supply.
In an interview with Ahotor news, the communications manager for the Ghana Water Company Limited GWCL Stanley Martey highlighted the company’s reliance on funds from consumers to sustain its operations.
