The majority leader cautioned against attempts to force a running mate on Dr. Bawumia

The Leader of the Majority group in Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is cautioning against the attempts to force a running mate on the flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Bawumia must not be pressured into choosing his running mate. He however said whoever is chosen to be the running mate should come from the southern part of the country and not the Ashanti region precisely.

The Suame legislature answered a question on whether he is interested in becoming the running mate. He said the choice should be left to the flag bearer to make.

“There is no contest in choosing a running mate, the man knows me and knows my competence, he knows my credentials and if he thinks am the right person then is his choice, he added”.

Speaking to the media monitored by @Ahotoronline.com, he said we are one people with one destiny hence, the constitution of Ghana forbids us to discriminate on the grounds of ethnicity, region, gender, etc. Therefore, the dynamics are known so we should allow the people to decide.
