The special Aid to Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng who founded the Movement for Change after heavy defeat in the August National delegates conference to elect a flag bearer for the New Patriotic Party. And upon defeat, Alan exited the elephant family to form the movement for change whose symbol is a butterfly.
Nana Yaw Sarpong said he is putting it on records that under no circumstance will the butterfly form alliance with the elephant party.
“He said, Ghana has moved on, and ready to break the duopoly in our body politics system” He called for leadership that will unite all Ghanaians. “We are pushing for a transformational Ghana to restore Ghana’s pride”.
Nana Yaw Sarpong also touched on the candidature of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the flag bearer of NPP saying the movement for change are not surprised of the candidature of Vice President Dr. Bawumia but what is obvious is the abysmal performance of Bawumia upon all the mechanisms the president Nana Akuffo Addo and the party put in place to enable him win absolutely but unfortunately he had just 61%.
Mr. Sarpong said, Bawumia’s keen contender, Kennedy Agyapong to pull 34% votes is a clear indications that, Dr. Bawumia is not obvious choice or accepted in the party. “there is a clear rejection of Bawumia per the outcome of the votes” ” if your party has rejected you, how much more Ghana as a whole accept you”?
