The National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party has put a structures in place with all the youth organizers to guide many people and the first time voters during the limited voter registration on their constituency, and polling station during the national election. And with transfer and exhibition, it looks the turnout was very low and the party don’t have the capacity for the exercise.
This assignment falls on the door step of the electoral commissioner and the party will collaborate to attend to any challenge that associate with the register.
The Deputy Director of Election of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mahdi Jibril said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM in Accra and hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu.
Speaking to the statement of creating a new constituencies, he disagree saying that, the Electoral Commission is not in position to do that, though the government may have an agenda, the Constitutional Instrument (CI) to parliament in 2017 to 2018, we resolve to create only 300 seats as a seal. Though the government has the chance to do it, the EC is limited this time round to do anything.
Touching on using the Ghana Card as a sole document for registration, he opined that, if during the limited voter registration about 62% of the new voters use the guarantee system which is higher than those who use the Ghana card.
He reiterated that, there is nothing wrong with guarantee system, if the Ghana card is not ready what can we do. He asks.
Mahdi Jibril opined that, electing Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, according to NDC strategy works for the party going into 2024 elections. By the party assessments in respect to the performance of the NPP on the two leading tickets, Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has mismanaged the economy and going forward their internal feedback on the performance of the economy is very discouraging and nothing to right home for the past seven years.
He disclosed that, the NDC is coming out with 24 hour economy, where jobs and all working institutions throughout the country will operates 24 hour office to create more jobs for the unemployed youth look for non existing jobs to earn living.
