The CEO of EKK Charity Foundation, Dr. Evans Kofi Kwafo has called on fathers to do well and accept the responsibility of caring for their children regardless of their circumstances in avoidance of putting pressure on mothers.
Speaking at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after paying an amount of GHC10,000 to discharge 3 detained patients two of them went to deliver, at the hospital. Dr. Evans Kofi Kwafo disclosed this saying; it’s very traumatic and unfortunate to abandon your wife in the hospital after giving birth, which will later make her a burden to the facility.
He noted that the issue of mothers being held up at the facility for medical bills keeps recurring because some men deliberately abandon their spouses after getting them pregnant.
According to him, we all have some loved ones in society that we can run to seek help when the need arises to support our wives in these difficult times, “we must not run away and leave the women to suffer whenever they visit the hospital facility because that incident can worsen their situations” he added.
Meanwhile, he has promised that despite its limited resources, the foundation would still be embarking on more of these interventions.
