In a stunning upset, Bibiani Gold Stars recorded their first victory over the Porcupine Warriors. Gold Stars came into the game with a balanced and ready-for-action mindset, and it showed on the field.
The game started with both teams evenly matched, but Gold Stars quickly found their rhythm in the game and took control of the game. With their strong defence and quick offensive attacks, they were able to score two goals in the second half where Prince Kwabena Owusu broke the deadlock in the 65th minute.
The Porcupine Warriors came back with an equalizer from Sherrif Mohamed in the 70th minute during the game. Three minutes later Eric Bosomtwi denied the Asante giants a point after scoring the winner for his club to record their first-ever victory over Ashanti Kotoko.
The Asante Giants tried to mount a comeback in the dying embers of the games, but the “Gold Miners” held strong and were able to hold on for the win. It ended in a 2-1 scoreline in favour of Bibiani. The victory marks a major milestone for the Miners and shows that they are a force to be reckoned with in the league. It also serves as a reminder for other teams not in any way doubt the powers of the team.
