Executive director for the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ACEPA)
Mensah Thomson says the police are finding it difficult to permit them to demonstrate against the Bank of Ghana because a delegation from the International Monitory Fund is in Ghana to supervise how the initial 600 million was used and to determine whether we qualify for the remaining 600 million.
Ghana has gone for a bailout of a three million US dollar bailout from the international monetary fund out of which a 600million dollars has been given.
Mr. Thomson is of the view that he thinks the police are hesitant in covering up the exposure of corruption to the delegation from the International Monitory Fund (IMF) seeks to send a bad signal to the board members which will prevent us from getting the rest of the money.
‘’The police had almost understood us until they had a call in cause of the meeting, after which they informed us they would not permit the demonstration. He further stated that the police service as an institution is afraid to disgrace the BOG mess before the international monetary fund stops the remaining balance that is why they are doing that’ he said.
