Chris Hughton praised his team for Tactical Discipline against Angola.

The Head Coach of Ghana Black stars, Chris Hughton has praised his team for the Tactical discipline shown against Angola.

In an interview,  Chris Hughton emphasized that he knew that Angola was a very good and tough opposition side, but charged his team to be Tactically disciplined.

“I know  Angola has some very good technical players, especially in the attacking areas. So we knew that defensively we would have to be good and we would have to be solid. But because they’re such a good, expansive, technical team, we wanted to use the spaces, utilise the spaces and attack fast. I thought once Angola scored the penalty, it gave us a lift, it inspired us to get back into the game”

“I think we proved we have a big spirit in the team and both games scored late goals. We are very happy to have four points from the two games. We wanted to win the game, you have to approach every game to win it.” – he added

Despite being without their star midfielder, Ghana was able to fight back from going a goal down to Lucas Joao’s penalty to claim a late draw. And Hughton confirmed Arsenal’s worst fears after the game by revealing Partey had suffered a knock.

The Black Stars travelled to the Palancas Negras in their latest Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match

Partey has been a key player for Mikel Arteta’s Gunners this season, but he has missed 37 games due to injury since arriving in the Emirates in October 2020. Those frequent injury issues led to Arsenal sending their lead performance physio with the midfielder for this latest international break.

Despite those precautions, Partey appears to have picked up an issue, though it is unknown what the extent of it is.
