(HOT AUDIO): KT Hammond is an elderly person, I was expecting sensible comments from him – Youth Activist takes on Adansi Asokwa MP

Youth Activist and Researcher Ivan Kyei Innocent has replied Adansi Asokwa legislator, Kobina Tahir Hammond, over his comments about the youth who booed President Akufo-Addo.
The Member of Parliament had taken exception to the reception received by President Akufo-Addo at the Global Citizen Festival.
On September 24, the President was booed by the youth while delivering a speech in line with the organizer’s mission.
Speaking during an interview on Joy News, the lawmaker said most Ghanaian youths don’t know anything about governance and are blockheaded.
“We don’t live in a country and do that. Let’s be humble. Whatever we do, the president is the executive head of this country. When he came, he didn’t say anything. It wasn’t even a political platform.
“He only said the event has brought the attention of the world on Ghana and the youth started booing at him. We will always tell the youth to be humble. When a matter comes up, we say we are going to consult elders. We don’t say we are coming to consult the youth whose heads are like coconut.
Reacting to the comments on Ahotor Fm’s Mid-day news, Ivan Kyei Inncocent described the comments by the Adansi Asokwa legislature as unsavory comment.
“It’s quite unfortunate that Mr. Hammond will make such unsavory comments. But I’m not sure many of us are soo much surprise about what he said”
“I have already said that the people who are leading this particular country have lost touch with reality so they have decided to create their sense of reality and they are living in it” Ivan said.
The knowledgeable Youth Activist said President Akufo-Addo can’t be spared over the current state of living in the country and he is responsible for the hardships Ghanaians are going through.
“The President is indeed responsible for the current economic mess and he should accept that reality to get some certain intrinsic motivation to fix the problem”.
“What happened was a non-functional political activity but when the President mounted the stage, the youth saw the level of desperation and the hopelessness together with the fact that there is no hope for them, they channeled their frustrations onto the President as he is the poster boy of a failed state”. He opined.
Ivan Kyei Innocent said the youth had some believe for Akufo-Addo but have now realized that he has nothing good to offer them.
“Akufo-Addo emits nothing than frustrations, he emits nothing than disappointments, he emits nothing than failed promises”. He said.
Ivan believes the comments by Hon. KT Hammond is not surprising as the NPP party as a whole don’t believe in the youth so therefore the reaction was natural flowing from the people which he denied the rumors’ that those who booed the President was motivated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
President Akufo-Addo was heckled and booed by a section of the crowd at the musical festival which took place at the Black Stars Square on Saturday, September 26, 2022.
The President was there to speak on poverty and what the government was doing to eradicate same while championing and upholding national unity.
