Egyptian league to welcome fans back to stadium

Partial return of fans attending football games in stadiums has been approved starting with the first round of the Egyptian Premier League’s new season, Premier League CEO Ahmed Diab declared on Tuesday.

“The interior ministry has agreed to allow 1,000 supporters of each club to attend league games starting from the new season 2021/2022,” Diab said during the draw for the Egyptian Premier League’s new season on Tuesday.

Egypt has been holding all football games behind closed doors over the past year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“There is no football without fans in the stands. We were dreaming of the fans’ return,” Diab added.

“For the first time, all the league matches will be broadcasted with HD technology using ten cameras at least in every game,” he concluded.

According to Tuesday’s draw, the Egyptian league’s new season will start on 25 October with the participation of 18 clubs
