We left a good legacy for NPP – Kempis

The Motorway Accra-Tema dualization road project was constructed to the tune of $66 million in November 3, 2016. This was after the NDC government led by fomer President Mahama cut the sod for the commencement of the project. The Mahama led administration signed grant agreements with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to provide aid up to a total of 6,459 million yen for two programmes in Ghana of which the Tema Motorway roundabout was included.

A former mayor of Tema, Hon Kempis Papa Nii Ofosuware has said on Ahotor 92.3 FM’s morning show, Adekyi Mu Nsem that the assertion by the NPP administration, and their appendages suggesting the John Mahama led regime deprived Ghanaians of development is unfounded and mischievous.

The former Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) during the late President John Atta Mills’ regime, said the NDC has always been noted as the beacon of development in Ghana.

He noted that, the Tema metropolis saw massive developments under the NDC and the residents of Tema can testify to that.

Mr. Ofosuware told the host, Citizen Kofi Owusu that, the recently commissioned Tema motorway extension road projects was started during the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration. He explained that, the New Patriotic Party can not take undue credit especially for the road projects within the Tema metropolis.

He revealed that, the metropolis under his leadership saw the up spring of radical developmental projects better than under the current NPP government.

The man who earned the accolade “Mr. Asphalt” due to the role he played as mayor in covering many trunk roads within Tema with asphalt during his tenure. Kempis Ofosuware situated his touting of the unprecedented nature of developmental projects within country to the point that, the previous NDC governments (late Atta Mills and John Mahama) must be eulogized and commended for a feat well chalked in terms of delivering infrastructural facilities to the nooks and cranny of the nation.

The Tema motorway extension road projects have been on the radar on many political discussions in the media with both the NDC and NPP taking credit over the project, amid raging debates as to which of the two main political parties comes first when it comes to delivering on road construction in the country.

Meanwhile the former mayor opined that, the NPP government lied its way into power hence their inability to fulfil their 2016 campaign promises which smacks of incompetence on the part of President Akufo-Addo and his henchmen.
