Asogli Youth Empowerment Day Inspires Young People to Build Better Future

The Asogli Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Day 2026 has brought together young people from across Asogli State for a day of learning, inspiration and empowerment at the G.M. Afeti Auditorium of Ho Technical University. Held on Saturday, August 22, the programme attracted students from OLA Girls Senior High School, Mawuli School and Mawuko Girls, as well as chiefs, queen mothers, elders and other stakeholders. The Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, HRM Togbe Afede XIV, was also present.

A key focus of the programme was the need to equip young people with the knowledge, mindset and support required to make responsible choices and build sustainable livelihoods. The event featured discussions on substance abuse, addiction and rehabilitation, with presentations by Mr. Courage Ahorlu-Dzage and Rev. Dr. Charles Yao Agede, a trained psychologist and Volta Regional Mental Health Coordinator, who highlighted the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of prevention, support and rehabilitation.

The Managing Director of Cocoa Marketing Company, Dr. Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, who served as the Special Guest, also addressed the youth on personal development, enterprise and the importance of preparing themselves to take advantage of opportunities. He encouraged the participants to develop the skills and mindset needed to become productive and responsible contributors to society.

Addressing the gathering, Togbe Afede XIV challenged the youth to embrace hard work, perseverance, honesty and determination as essential qualities for success. He urged them to take personal responsibility for their future and work towards creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to come.

The event also highlighted Asogli State’s continued commitment to youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. Togbe Afede XIV has previously supported young entrepreneurs through the Asogli State Youth Empowerment initiative, including a GH¢260,000 support package for eight young entrepreneurs in 2025.

The Asogli Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Day 2026 therefore served as both a platform for inspiration and a call to action for young people to develop their skills, make responsible choices and pursue sustainable livelihoods. The programme reinforced the message that the future development of Asogli State depends significantly on the preparation, character, skills and determination of its youth.
