Policy Advisor in charge of Political Affairs at the Office of the Vice President and Board Chairman of the Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has shared his inspiring life story, recounting how he rose from a very humble background through perseverance and faith in God.
Speaking during a gathering at his residence to mark his birthday, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo reflected on his early life and the challenges he encountered growing up in a rural community. According to him, his upbringing was modest, and celebrating birthdays was not a common practice in his village.
He noted that in those days, survival and daily responsibilities took precedence over personal celebrations, adding that sometimes his birthday even passes without him realizing it.
“I came from a village where birthdays were not something we celebrated. Sometimes the day even passes before I remember it is my birthday,” he stated.
Dr. Ofosu Ampofo explained that despite his difficult beginnings and poor background, the grace and mercy of God have been instrumental in his life journey, helping him rise through the ranks to occupy several important positions in national leadership.
He encouraged young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, not to lose hope but to remain focused, hardworking, and faithful in their pursuits.
The COCOBOD Board Chairman further expressed gratitude to family, friends, and well-wishers who joined him to celebrate the occasion, describing their presence as a sign of love and support.
He also used the opportunity to reflect on the importance of humility, service to humanity, and dedication to national development, urging Ghanaians to remain united and committed to the progress of the country.
Dr. Ofosu Ampofo has over the years served in several key public roles and continues to contribute to national policy discussions and governance.
