Don’t charge new fees – NCTE orders public unis
The National Council for Tertiary Education has asked the managers of public tertiary institutions to maintain the fees and charges for last academic year.
It follows agitations on some campuses over payment of what the students say are exorbitant fees for this academic year.
A statement issued by the NCTE said the proposed fees and charges for this academic year have been collated for consideration and approval by Parliament.
It said following the decision of Parliament some adjustments may need to be made to reflect the approved levels for implementation.
The Council is asking management of public institutions, prospective and continuing students and the public to comply with the directive.
