Benjamin Asare is the best Player in the Ghana Premier League – Black Stars Technical Advisor

Black Stars Technical Advisor Winfred Schaefer has identified Benjamin Asare as the standout performer in Ghana’s domestic league following his recent scouting tour across the country.

Speaking after two months of monitoring local competitions, Schaefer revealed that the goalkeeper has impressed him more than any other player.

“Over the past two months, I have been visiting league venues and engaging with coaches and players. The best player I have seen is Benjamin Asare, and he is the Black Stars’ first-choice goalkeeper,” Schaefer said in an interview with Medeamaa FM.

The veteran football tactician also underscored the importance of Ghana’s local league in shaping the national team, challenging the perception that talent development is limited to players based in Europe.

“The heart of football in Ghana lies in the local league, not only with players abroad,” he stated.

Schaefer further encouraged domestic players to remain focused and committed, emphasizing that national team opportunities remain open to those who consistently perform.

“I urge all players to work hard if they want to earn a call-up into the Black Stars,” he added.

His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the integration of home-based players into Ghana’s national team setup ahead of upcoming international assignments.
