“Expect more surprises in the Black Stars Call Up for the World Cup – John Paintsil hints

Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil hints at surprises in Ghana’s 2026 World Cup squad, with both local and international players in contention.

“Every Ghanaian who qualifies to play is welcome, but there will be a lot of surprises,” Paintsil revealed.

The team will regroup in March for friendlies against Austria and Germany, ahead of their World Cup Group L matches against Panama, England, and Croatia. Ghana aims to progress beyond the group stage after exits in 2014 and 2022.

The Black Stars kick off their campaign on June 17 vs Panama in Toronto, followed by England in Boston, and Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
