Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito is reeling from his team’s 3-1 defeat to Heart of Lions, acknowledging a golden chance to close the gap on league leaders Medeama SC was squandered.
“Medeama lost yesterday, and today was our chance to close the gap. Honestly, I feel we missed that opportunity,” Zito said.
The Porcupine Warriors’ loss at Kpando Sports Stadium was particularly painful, given their thorough preparation. “We worked very hard, we prepared extremely well,”
Zito added. He highlighted the challenges of playing in Kpando but insisted it wasn’t an excuse.
Kotoko now sit fifth with 35 points, facing arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in a high-stakes Matchday 22 clash at Baba Yara Stadium this weekend.
