2024 Budget: The Economy is recovering but businesses will suffer in 2024 – PWC Ghana

Country Senior Partner of the Pwc Ghana Vish Ashiagbor is predicting a tough 2024 for businesses.
Reacting to the 2024 Budget statement presented by Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta, Mr. Ashiagbor said the indications in the 2024 budget show the economy is recovering but the businesses will suffer in 2024.

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta presented the 2024 budget in Parliament on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Among other things, he said Ghana’s economy, which plummeted in recent years, had begun making modest gains.

Mr. Ofori Atta cited, for instance, that the country’s inflation has started declining because the economy is performing better.

Mr. Vish Ashiagbor further called on the government to cut down expenditure for a better economy in 2025 and he also proposed the expansion of the tax net to cover more people.
