Tema, Ghana – Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has cautioned President John Mahama to be vigilant in dealing with appointees from the previous administration.
According to Mr. Koomson, individuals appointed by former President Nana Akufo-Addo could potentially undermine the efforts of the new government.
He stressed the importance of addressing the influence of these officials to ensure the success of President Mahama’s “resetting agenda.”
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s Yepe Ahunu show, Mr. Koomson urged the President to take decisive action, stating, “President Mahama, you’ve committed to reset the country, go ahead and deal with all the appointees made by Akufo-Addo, they can sabotage your resetting agenda.”
Mr. Koomson’s comments follow the historic suspension of Ghana’s Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, by President Mahama — a move unprecedented in the country’s history.
The suspension comes amid an ongoing investigation triggered by three undisclosed petitions, all calling for the Chief Justice’s permanent removal.
Reacting to the development, Abraham Koomson expressed strong support for the President’s decision, emphasizing that the Chief Justice, along with other key appointees from the previous administration, must be removed to prevent any acts of sabotage against the nation’s progress.
