Young Apostles have announced their decision to boycott the remaining Ghana Premier League fixtures due to poor officiating.
The club’s CEO, Gerald Domfeh, stated that they will show up on matchdays but won’t compete, citing frustration with refereeing standards. This follows a 2-2 draw against Hohoe United, which Domfeh believes reflects broader officiating issues.
The club is currently 15th on the league table with 22 points and was set to face Dreams FC in Matchday 20. Domfeh suggested that Young Apostles might be better off competing in the Division One League, where they can generate revenue through player sales ¹ ².
The controversy is further fueled by comments from club official Samuel Anim Addo, who accused referee Maxwell Hanson of being the GFA’s “man for dirty works” and claimed the GFA threatened to relegate Young Apostles for criticizing officiating standards.
However, Young Apostles has distanced themselves from Anim Addo’s remarks, and the GFA has charged him with misconduct.
