You are the mouthpiece for development in your area – Hon Nii Dodoo on the role of Assembly members.

Hon. Nii Amponsah Dodoo, the respected Assembly member for the Ga Manye electoral area in Dansoman of the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly, recently shared his perspective on the crucial roles of Assembly members.

He emphasized that the constitution writers recognized the importance of Assembly members’ roles, which is why they included these responsibilities in the constitution.

According to Hon. Dodoo, it is the duty of an elected Assembly member to lobby for development within their electoral area. This involves working with both government and private entities to bring improvements and benefits to the community.

Speaking on Property Daybreak with Anigye Hene Abeiku Yamoah, he stated that failing to secure development for one’s area is inexcusable for an Assembly member.

Furthermore, Hon. Dodoo highlighted the importance of maintaining strong contact with the electorate. He stressed that Assembly members must seek approval from the people and local chiefs before initiating any projects.

This ensures that the actions taken are in line with the community’s needs and desires.

He called on all Assembly members to understand and fulfill their roles effectively to provide better leadership during their tenure.
