Yilo ndc parliamentary race: Hon Soda withdraws, throws weight behind Mr. Ologo

In what appears to be a controversial and very competitive race for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC in electing a parliamentary candidate in Yilo Krobo constituency in the eastern region, one of the leading contenders, Mr Andrews Soda former MCE under the erstwhile Mills -Mahama administration steps down, a week to the primaries and officially throws his support behind Mr Michael Ologo, the favourite.

According to the former MCE, after careful introspection without any force nor lobby, he throws in the towel and gives his total support for one Michael Ologo whom he thinks is the leading candidate.

In a phone interview with the host of the susubiribi morning show on Radio1 100.7fm, Nana Kwabena Addo, the resigned NDC MP aspirant, Mr Andrews Soda revealed that it is true he has stepped down and is ready to commit all his resources to help Michael Ologo actualise his dreams.

“I am the eldest among the three because before the inception of the party, i was part. I stepped down to support Michael Ologo because i know him. the party knows him and i can trust him. For the past years i have been the Chief Executive Officer, i don’t know Nyarkotey. So i have withdrawn and thrown my weight behind Michael Ologo”- Mr Soda said.

Again he used the opportunity to urge all party faithfuls and his supporters to disregard the speculations that he’s supporting the other candidate.

“Let me say this. I got a report from Aboabo, a branch in the Yilo constituency that Nyarkotey said i have resigned and rallied behind him but i want them to know that i am for Michael Ologo. Michael Ologo came to my house after he heard i have resigned but Nyarkotey claims i came to his house after my resignation. Why would I do that. Let me say that again, all my supports are for Micahel ologo” – Mr Soda added.

However, Mr Soda vehemently not once but repeatedly revealed that he doesn’t know the third candidate in Yilo as a member of the Umbrella party nor his contribution to the party since 1992.

NDC has set February 8 2020 to go to the polls at Yilo Krobo to elect their parliamentary candidate for the general election. Who would it be? Michael Ologo or Albert Nyarkotey?
