World Cup 2026: Ghana Can Reach the Semi-Finals and Beyond – Paul Reverson

Black Stars goalkeeper Paul Reverson has expressed strong confidence in Ghana’s chances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, boldly stating that the team has what it takes to reach the semi-finals—or even go further.

The Black Stars are set to make their fifth appearance at football’s biggest tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Ghana has been drawn in a challenging Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia as they seek to make a deep run in the competition.

Despite Ghana’s group-stage exits at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the 2022 tournament in Qatar, Reverson believes the current squad possesses the quality and determination needed to create history at the 23rd edition of the Mundial.

“I think Ghana can reach the semi-finals and even further,” the highly-rated Ajax goalkeeping prospect told 3Sports.

The young shot-stopper was named in Ghana’s 28-man provisional squad for the tournament but narrowly missed out on the final 26-man roster.

The Black Stars will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before facing England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. They will conclude their group-stage fixtures against Croatia on June 27.

With optimism growing around the national team, Reverson’s ambitious prediction reflects the belief that Ghana can once again challenge the world’s elite and potentially surpass its historic quarter-final finish achieved at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
