Williams and Mumin Nominated for La Liga African MVP

Ghana internationals Inaki Williams and Abdul Mumin have been nominated for the 2024/25 La Liga African MVP award.

Williams, the reigning winner, continues to impress for Athletic Bilbao, while Mumin’s consistent performances earned him recognition despite a season-ending injury.

Williams has scored six goals and provided six assists for Bilbao, helping the team push for a Champions League spot and reach the Europa League semi-finals.

Mumin featured in 24 league matches for Rayo Vallecano, scoring twice and providing an assist. He helped the team to six clean sheets and won the Rayo Player of the Month award.

Williams and Mumin are among 20 nominees from 13 African countries. Fans from Sub-Saharan Africa and a panel of 25 African journalists will determine the winner.

Voting closes on May 14, and the winner will be announced on May 25, Africa Day.
