In a recent exclusive interview, Mrs. Kumah revealed that her husband died after a prolonged battle with a serious blood disorder, which had been diagnosed over a year before his passing.
According to Mrs. Kumah, the illness was first detected in August 2023 during a medical check-up in Germany. She affirmed that toxicology screenings in both Germany and Ghana confirmed there was no trace of poisoning. Mrs. Kumah specifically criticized broadcaster Captain Smart for spreading misinformation, describing his claims as reckless and distressing.
“It’s wrong and painful for anyone to speak with such certainty about my husband’s death without facts. It only adds to our pain,” Mrs. Kumah said. She recounted how her husband continued to carry out his responsibilities with determination, even as his health worsened. Despite his struggles, John Kumah remained committed to his duties, inspiring admiration from many.
Mrs. Kumah also described the day her husband died—March 7, 2024—when he was taken to Suhum Government Hospital in an emergency situation but sadly could not be revived. She called for an end to the circulation of false information and urged people to allow her family to mourn in peace.
