Nigerian star Kizz Daniel has revealed that, despite his fame and success, he still “lives like a poor man.” The “Buga” hitmaker says he no longer chases money—instead, money chases him.
The conversation began when Kizz Daniel posted online that wealth doesn’t guarantee happiness. He pondered the paradox of why joy often fades once money arrives, asking, “Why when money comes, happiness dey always comot?” He noted that many affluent people remain unhappy despite their riches and urged his followers to see through the façade of online “fake love and happiness.”
One fan challenged him: “So, you’re saying money doesn’t bring happiness—but you chase it every blessed day?” In response, Kizz Daniel reiterated, “Lol… I still live like a poor man every day. Na money dey chase me instead.”
He emphasized that he isn’t discouraging hard work, but warned that wealth brings its own complications. “Guys, I’m not saying don’t chase money,” he said. “I’m just saying with money comes problems. People wey get am no go tell una the truth ‘cause they want to feel superior.”
