The Western Regional Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Dr George Diawuo has been asked to report to the head office in Accra for re-assigment.
This was contained in a letter dated Wednesday, September 13, 2023 signed by the Executive Director of the EPA, Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu.
This comes in the wake of the Saturday night explosion in the Shama district of the Western Region which claimed 5 lives and left a number of people injured.
The Central Regional Director, Shan Fragome takes over as the Western Regional Director of the EPA.
This is part of a nationwide changes effected by the agency.
Other regional directors including the Ashanti Regional Director have also been reshuffled.
The Ashanti Regional Director, Samuel Oteng is moving to Accra West in Amasaman.
Dr Jackson Adiyie from Ahafo is moving to Ashanti and Omanhene Kwaku Boateng of Ada area is moving to Central Region
The Accra West Director in Amasaman, Mrs Sally Biney moves to Accra East in Tema.
The Accra East Director Irene Opoku moves to the head office as head of operations.
The EPA boss has indicated that there will be more transfers later on.
