Western North Minister Probes Aowin MP’s Alleged Illegal Mining, Seeks Peace with Traditional Council

The Western North Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, has launched an investigation into allegations that Aowin MP, Oscar Ofori Larbi, is involved in illegal mining (galamsey)—a claim that has led to his banishment by the Aowin Traditional Council.

The Traditional Council accused Larbi of engaging in illegal mining activities and displaying insubordination towards traditional authorities. As a result, they took the unprecedented step of banishing him from the Aowin community.

However, the MP has strongly denied all allegations, insisting that he has no involvement in illegal mining and remains committed to serving his constituents.

To uncover the truth and restore harmony, Minister Brentum has vowed to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter.

His goal is not only to verify the legitimacy of the accusations but also to mediate between the MP and the Traditional Council to ease tensions and foster cooperation.
