West Ham United appoint Graham Potter as new head coach

Graham Potter makes a return to the Premier League as he is set to take charge at West Ham United following the departure Julen Lopetegui.

Premier League outfits West Ham United have agreed to name former Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albiom manager Graham Potter atter parting ways with Spanish tactician Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday afternoon.

West Ham have sacked Julen Lopetegui after only eight months in the job when he replaced David Moyes at the end of the 2023/2024 season after guiding them to the Conference League title.

West Ham’s underwhelming performance under the former Spanish Men’s National Team manager leaves them fourteenth on the table after winning just six out of twenty Premier League games despite backing him with more than £130m on transfers.

Graham Potter had not worked in active management since leaving Chelsea in April 2023 where he lasted for only seven months of a five-year contract he when switched from Brighton.

The Englishman’s contract at West Ham United runs until 2027. He is expected to be in charge for West Ham’s FA Cup third-round clash with Aston Villa on Friday.
