The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has assured Ghanaians of the agency’s commitment to creating sustainable and impactful employment opportunities for the nation’s youth.
In a media interaction, Basintale emphasized the YEA’s strategic shift from temporary, short-term job schemes to long-lasting initiatives that align with the skills of young Ghanaians and the demands of the economy. He highlighted plans to collaborate with private sector organizations, NGOs, and other stakeholders to achieve this goal.
“Our focus is on creating employment opportunities that are not only meaningful but sustainable, empowering the youth to become self-reliant and contribute significantly to national development,” Basintale said.
This renewed approach by the YEA is expected to address the pressing issue of youth unemployment, which continues to pose a challenge in Ghana. By prioritizing sustainability, the agency aims to drive economic growth, reduce poverty, and improve the livelihoods of young people across the country.
The assurance from the YEA’s acting CEO has been welcomed by many as a promising step towards tackling unemployment and ensuring long-term economic progress.
