“We will work together” – Sports Minister Designate, Kofi Adams tells GHALCA

The minister-designate for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams was in attendance on Thursday when the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA) 2025 elections were held at the association’s secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The elections saw John Kofi Ansah emerged as the president-elect to lead the association for the next four years pulling 96 votes out of 131 total valid vote cast. A landslide victory over his opponent Isaac Wilberforce Koomson who amassed 35.

He succeeds Kudjo Fianoo whose reign spanned from 2016 to 2024.

Addressing the audience, the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency assured the newly elected leadership of GHALCA his willingness and support to work hand in hand to achieve collective goals.

“We need to do this (bring back the love) together with all the other arms of the sports industry; we need it, that is how we will survive. I am only here to express my solidarity to tell you that…we will be working together. Something must happen and we will need you to make sure that that happens.” He said.

Kofi Adams have been outspoken since his nomination to the Sports Ministry’s top role becoming a director opposite to himself prior.

The 49-year old have his nomination line up for vetting before the Appointment Committee for approval at the floor of Parliament.
