The Acting paramount queen mother for Shama traditional Area and the queen mother for Nyanokrom Nana Akosua Gyamfi Abba II, has stated that the traditional council were sidelined on the day of commissioning of Twyford ceramics factory.
According to her the traditional council were not invited to the ceremony and leaders who came for the commissioning did so without any proper invitation.
“It is so sad and disgraceful that no one from the traditional area represented at the commissioning. I will not blame the Chinese expatriates for their negligence but will highly blame their Ghanaian counterparts and the organizers of the program on Saturday”.
“We were so surprise about this incident because there is a cordial relationship between the traditional council and the regional and district coordinating council but unfortunately no official from these offices sent an invitation to us” she stated.
She made this statement on Tuesday’s edition of Ahotor FM’s morning show with Onantefour Addea Mununkum. The queen mother further stated that the land acquisition was done around 2015 from the Lower Ntwaban area.
“The clearing of the land, building of the factory and connection of gas from the Ghana gas company did not happen with seven months as stated by some journalists is not true, I dealt with the company and I can state that the building of the factory took years before its completion in 2017” She Stated.
President Akufo-Addo commissioned the Twyford Ceramics Factory, at Shama, in the Western Region on Saturday, 13th January, 2018.
