Accra Hearts of Oak managed a draw against Ghana Premier League defending Champions FC Samartex on Sunday in Samraboi.
It was the third time the Phobians ended a game with 0-0 scores away this season having drawn goalless with Nations FC at Abrankese and Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf.
Despite picking a vital away point for the first time at the Nsenkyire Stadium in that well Samartex dominated game the Ivorian tactician has said his side did not play well.
“We should have won with that last chance from Asamoah Boateng but the goalkeeper did well for samartex especially with that last chance from Asamoah Boateng, we were expected that ball to be in the bet but he missed it. We didn’t play well, but we’re ok with the point ” said Ouattara in post match presser.
Abubakar Ouattara has been criticized for his style of play by many Hearts fans describing his system as boring. Hearts of Oak have eight wins from seventeen matches and have accumulated twenty-nine points which leaves them in the 5th place with four points behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
It’s worth noting that having played a game more, Hearts of Oak have picked more away points, 15, than they have amassed at home, 14, despite conceding six goals away to their home’s four.
Ouattara have had eight different scorers with Hamza Issah ad Mawuli Wayo as his joint topscorers netting only four times, Kwabena Boateng and Ramzy Yusif netting twice each and Emmanuel Amankwah, Salim Adams, Mohamed Hussein and Ransford Yeboah getting one goal each.
The club’s attack is worrying and the assimilated coach who is heavily backed by the top hierarchy should improve to be able to fight for the title they last won in 2021.
Hearts will play away to Basake Holy Stars this season on week 18 of the Ghana premier League. The debutants handed the Rainbow Boys first defeat of the current campaign and will aim to count on home advantage to repeat feat Sunday, January 26, 2025.
